The first-30-days checklist
1. Form the business
Most owners form an LLC with their state (in Florida, through Sunbiz) and get a free EIN from the IRS.
2. Get licensed
Most trades need a state or local license. In Florida, HVAC and plumbing contractors are licensed by DBPR's Construction Industry Licensing Board.
3. Insurance
General liability, and workers' comp once you hire. Many states and counties require proof before you pull permits.
4. Open a business bank account
Keep business money separate from day one. It makes the books (and taxes) far easier.
5. Price your work
Price from labor, parts, overhead and margin, not from the cheapest guy on Facebook.
6. Set up your software

If you never take a payment through the platform, you never pay us anything. If you do, the fee is the same whether you have one employee or fifty.
