The checklist
- License. Plumbing contractors are licensed in most states. In Florida it's DBPR's Construction Industry Licensing Board (certified statewide, or registered locally).
- LLC and EIN. File your LLC with your state (Sunbiz in Florida) and get a free EIN from the IRS.
- Insurance. General liability now; workers' comp when you hire.
- Bank account. Business money stays separate from day one.
- Price book. Price from labor, parts, overhead and margin. The calculator works for plumbing too.
- Invoices and payments. Use the free invoice template or a free account with pay links.
- First customers. Google Business Profile, reviews, and the referral network.

- Online bill pay to your vendors (optional, from your accounting): $39 a month per office, only in months you pay bills through it, unlimited users, plus Stripe's cost at cost (bank debit 0.8% capped at $5, 0.25% + 25¢ per vendor payout, $2 per active vendor per month).
If you never take a payment through the platform, you never pay us anything. If you do, the fee is the same whether you have one employee or fifty.
