Spring
- Clean up beds, leaves and winter debris
- Apply pre-emergent before soil reaches germination temperature
- Sharpen mower blades and set mowing height
- Start the irrigation system and check every zone
- Edge beds and refresh mulch
Summer
- Mow at the higher end of the recommended height
- Spot-treat weeds
- Watch for grub and insect damage
- Adjust irrigation run times for heat
Fall
- Core aerate and overseed (cool-season lawns)
- Apply fall fertilizer
- Collect leaves
- Cut back perennials and trim shrubs
Winter
- Winterize irrigation where it freezes
- Service mowers and equipment
