Scan parts onto the job from your phone

1. 1Step 1: Open the job and tap Scan part

   In the tech app, open the job and the Items tab, then tap 📷 Scan part. The camera opens. It works on iPhone and Android, in the app and in the browser. Allow the camera the first time.

2. 2Step 2: Pulling from somewhere other than your truck?

   Scan the shelf label (or another truck’s sticker) first. The top of the scanner shows where parts are coming from, and they’re taken out of that location’s stock.

3. 3Step 3: Scan each part

   Each scan adds one. On a residential job priced at flat rate, the first capacitor adds the flat-rate task (for example Capacitor replacement) at your price-book price, and the part rides along under it at cost; the customer never sees it. On a commercial or time-and-materials job, each part shows at its sell price.

   The office can turn on a quantity box under Inventory → More → Settings if you’d rather type how many.

4. 4Step 4: Scanned the wrong thing?

   Tap ↶ Undo at the top of the scanner. The line comes off and the part goes back where it came from. You can also tap 🗑 on any line later.

5. 5Step 5: No signal?

   Keep scanning. Each scan is saved on your phone and adds itself when you have signal again, in the same order.
