Snap a supply-house receipt onto the job
At the counter, photo the receipt onto the job. The app reads it and checks every price against the PO and your price book before anything changes.

Step 1: Open Receipt for a job
On your phone, open Purchase Orders → 📷 Receipt for a job. In the tech app, open the job and tap 📷 Add a receipt for this job: the job is already picked.
Step 2: Pick the job and take the photo
Pick the job (your jobs and today’s jobs are at the top, or search). Tap Take a photo of the receipt, lay the receipt flat in good light, and get the whole thing in the frame. A PDF or an emailed invoice works too.
Step 3: Check what it read
In about 20 seconds you see the vendor, date, invoice number, each line and the total. Each line shows ✓ when it matches the PO, ⚠ with the dollars and percent when the price is over the PO or over your price-book cost (or the quantity is different), and ✗ when an item isn’t on the PO or the math doesn’t add up. Lines on the PO that weren’t on the receipt are listed too; they stay open.
Techs who can’t see costs don’t see prices here. Their receipt is saved to the job and waits for the office under Waiting for a check.
Step 4: Confirm
Pick the PO to compare with, or No PO yet to make a receipt PO on the job. Fix any quantity or price, untick lines you don’t want, and tick Update price-book cost only on the lines you want changed. Press Confirm: the lines are received at those prices (job cost and your books update through the normal Purchasing steps) and, if ticked, the receipt is entered as the vendor bill. Nothing changes before you press Confirm.
Step 5: Already paid? Mark it paid with the card
If you paid at the counter (the company AMEX, for example), tick Already paid on the check screen, pick Company credit card and the card, and type the last 4. On a PO that already has its bill, use Mark as paid and pick Paid via: a card, the bank (check, ACH or wire), cash or a vendor credit. A card payment goes against that card in your books, not your bank, and the material lands on the job once, from the receipt. When the card charge later comes in from the bank feed it’s matched to this payment, so nothing is counted twice. If the vendor describes the work in different words than your PO, tick This invoice is for the PO lines as ordered so their lines aren’t added on top.

Questions about this
What gets sent to read the receipt?
Only the receipt image or PDF. Nothing about your customer goes with it.
Does it change my price book by itself?
No. A price-book cost only changes on a line where you tick Update price-book cost and press Confirm.

Press Read it again after you retake it, or upload a clearer photo. Anything it can’t read clearly is marked so you check it.
