Step 1: Add each tech to your team
Open Settings → Team & Permissions and click + Add person. Enter their name and their own email, and pick Technician as the role. Leave Email them an invite to set their own password ticked. Their email has a link to set a password and your company’s own sign-in link, so they never need a Company ID. The invite link works for 72 hours; if it runs out, open their card and send a new one.
Doing the work yourself too? Click + Add person, enter your own email and pick Technician. It offers Add a tech login to your account, so the same email and password open the tech app and you show on the map like anyone else.
Step 2: Put the app on an iPhone
On the phone, open the email and tap the sign-in link so it opens in Safari. Sign in with their email and password. Then tap Share (the square with the arrow) → Add to Home Screen → Add. From now on they open MyHomeService360 from the icon on the home screen, like any app.
Step 3: Put the app on an Android phone
Download the Pro app from the app page, or open the sign-in link in Chrome, sign in, and tap ⋮ → Install app. Either way works the same.
Step 4: Allow location
Right after a tech signs in, the first-time screen explains why, then the phone asks to use their location. Tap Allow (on iPhone, Allow While Using App), and leave Precise on so the map shows the right street.
If they tapped Don’t Allow, a red banner stays at the top of the app until it’s fixed:
- iPhone: Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services (on) → Safari Websites → While Using the App, with Precise Location on. The home-screen app uses Safari’s setting.
- Android: make sure Location is on in the phone’s quick settings, then in Chrome tap the icon next to the web address → Permissions → Location → Allow.
Then tap Turn on in the banner, or close and reopen the app.
Step 5: Check location is on for your business
Home-service businesses have location on already. If someone turned it off, open Settings → Trade Config and set Staff location (GPS) to Automatic or On. Only an owner or admin can change it.
Step 6: See them on the map and the board
Signed-in techs show on the live map on your dashboard and on the dispatch board. Their spot updates about once a minute, or sooner when they’re moving. If no new position has come in for 20 minutes, the map shows when they were last seen instead of a live spot.
Step 7: Signing in: no company number
Techs sign in with the email (or username) and password from their invite. The app finds your company from that, so nobody types a Company ID. If the same email and password work for more than one company, the app asks once which one. After the first sign-in it remembers the company and the person, and they can turn on Quick unlock (Face ID, fingerprint or a 4-digit PIN where the phone supports it) so they don’t type the password every morning.
Step 8: The first-time screen
The first time a tech opens the app, one screen explains why the app needs their location (so the office sees them on the dispatch board and the app can check them in when they pull up to a job) before the phone asks. It also offers notifications where the phone supports them, and Quick unlock. They only see it once on each phone.
Step 9: The home screen: your day on a map
The app opens on Today: a map with every stop numbered in order (done stops get a check, the current one is highlighted, and the tech is the blue dot), with the list underneath. Not clocked in yet? One big Clock in and start my day button comes first. The current job sits on top with a Go button, which marks them on the way and opens directions in one tap. When the office adds a job, a banner says so. Pull down to refresh. The bottom tabs are Today, Numbers, Clock and More.
Step 10: A job, one step at a time
Each job is a checklist of six steps, and only the one they’re on is open, with one big button for what’s next:
- Drive there: directions, a Running late text from their phone, and when they pull up the app asks Check in?
- Check in: pinned notes (gate code, the dog) in big print and the last visit, then Got it, start the job.
- Find the problem: hold to talk instead of typing, photos, the equipment and plan checklist, charges from the price book or a scan, and a part request.
- Customer OKs the price: turn the phone around; they see what was found and the total, and sign to OK it. Or text them the estimate. If the price changes later, the app asks for a new OK.
- Do the work: a job timer, Pause for a parts run, What I did, the job checklist and the after photo (required).
- Sign and pay: the customer checks the work and signs. Signing completes the job on the board and makes the invoice in the same tap. Then they pay: Tap to Pay, card on this phone, a text or email pay link, or cash or check.
The ⋯ button has the rest: not home, needs parts, more time, flag to the office, a return visit, text support, and the full job screen.
Step 11: It remembers where they were
The app saves the step, which sections are open and the customer’s OK on the phone right away and on your account a moment later. Close the app, lose signal or switch phones, and they land back on the same step. The office sees it too: the job’s quick view on the dispatch board shows Tech app: Step 3 of 6: Find the problem and when the customer OK’d the price.
Step 12: Numbers, Clock and More
Numbers is their own numbers for Today, This week, This month or dates they pick: jobs completed, upcoming jobs, estimates given and the close rate, plans sold, average ticket, revenue paid, customer rating and hours on the clock, each with ▲ or ▼ against the same number of days before. Each person only sees their own. To hide revenue and average ticket, untick Show techs their revenue in the tech app in Settings → Users & Permissions.
Clock shows today’s hours, on jobs and everything else, and clock in or out. Ask the office to fix my time sends you a request; nothing changes until the office fixes the timesheet.
More has light, dark or match the phone, message the office, part requests, the truck and price book, Quick unlock, these guides, how location is used, the privacy policy and Delete my account (it sends you a request; the person’s jobs and history stay with your company). Need the old tabbed job screen on one phone? Text support and we’ll switch it.
Step 13: Pinned notes
📌 Pinned notes sit at the top of every job in the app, for things like a gate code or “dog in the yard.” A pin can be for this job only, for every job for that customer, or for every job at that address, so it’s there next time too. Techs pin and unpin from the app, and the office does it from the dispatch board’s job panel or the job page. Jobs with pins show 📌 and a count on the home list.
Step 14: The job map
Each job shows a small map of the address with a pin and how far away the tech is (straight-line miles from their last location). Tap the map for directions. Without signal it shows just the address.
Step 15: Keep the app open during the day
Here’s the honest part: the app sends location only while it’s open on the screen. If they lock the phone or switch to another app, their spot stops updating until they open it again. It doesn’t track anyone in the background or after they sign out, and office logins never share location.
What works best: open the app at the start of the day, tap Go or I’m on my way when they leave for a job (it opens turn-by-turn directions), and Check in when they get there (the app asks when they pull up). A phone mount in the truck with the app on screen keeps the map live while they drive.
Step 16: Not showing on the map?
- Are they signed in with a Technician login? Office and owner logins don’t share location unless the owner has a tech login.
- Is location allowed (no red banner at the top of the app)?
- Is the app open on the screen right now?
- Do they have signal? Location is never saved for later, so their spot comes back once they’re online again.

Questions about this
Is the app free?
Yes. It’s part of the free software, for everyone you add.
Does it track my team after hours?
No. It only sends location while someone is signed in to the app with it open on the screen. Clocking out at home stops it until they’re back on the clock.
Do I have to use the App Store?
No. On iPhone, add it to the home screen from Safari. On Android, use the Pro app download or install it from Chrome.
