Record equipment from the data plate
Photograph each unit’s data plate. We read the make, model, serial, age and electrical ratings off the label, you check them, and the unit is saved to the customer with its manual.

Step 1: Add a unit
On any job, open the 🏠 Home tab (or ⭐ Plan on a plan visit) and tap + Add a unit. Pick the type: A/C condenser, heat pump, air handler, furnace, mini-split, water heater, pool pump or heater, softener, panel, generator, appliances and more.
Step 2: Photograph the data plate
Tap Photograph the data plate. In a few seconds the fields fill in: make, model, serial, the date it was made (decoded from the serial when it isn’t printed), tons or BTU, SEER, refrigerant, voltage, compressor RLA and LRA, fan and blower FLA, MCA and MOCP.
Step 3: Check and save
Check each field against the plate and fix anything that’s off, then add the room (it becomes a marker on the homeowner’s floor plan), a unit photo and its filter size. Save. The unit shows its age right away, and we look up the owner’s manual for it.
Step 4: Survey the whole home
Keep adding units one after another. The tab counts them (for example 47 units recorded) and suggests what a home like this usually has that you haven’t recorded yet. Breaker panel, breaker labels, disconnect and access photos go under Site photos & measurements.
